Humanity's earliest civilizations cultivated hemp.

One of the first plants to be spun into usable fiber 10,000 years ago, hemp is the world’s strongest natural fiber and is known to have over 50,000 uses. 

First drafts of the US Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were made from hemp as was Betsy Ross’s flag. 

Medieval Europeans consumed hemp as filling in baked goods and in soups.

The first U.S. President, George Washington grew hemp as a cash crop.

Other U.S. presidents who grew hemp are Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, Zachary Taylor and Franklin Pierce.

Thomas Jefferson once said, “Hemp is of the first necessity to the wealth and protection of the country.”

For thousands of years, 90% of all ships’ sails and rope were made from hemp.

The word ‘canvas’ comes from the Middle English word “canevas” which comes from the Latin word cannabis.

Israeli pharmacologist Raphael Mechoulam first isolated CBD & THC in the mid-1960s. Israel leads the world in hemp government supported research since 1990.
